Happy Birthday Savannah

Yes, Savannah is 6 today. I remember 6 years ago today, I went to the hospital to get induced so my doctor could actually deliver her before he went on vacation the very next day. I didn't want the one that delivered Jackson and she would have been on call. Well, Savannah waited ALL DAY LONG!!! She wasn't born until 1051 at night. My doctor was great! He thought she would have been born quite a bit earlier in the day, but she wasn't going to have any of that!! To this day, she still takes her time with everything and is on her own time. I can't believe that 6 years have gone by already. She is really excited about kindergarten! I am so proud of her!

On wed night, we went to a Mexican restaurant with my parents and Jonathan and Aleisha to celebrate. She got this sombrero and was quite embarrassed. She even got to take it home. Today they have swim lessons, then John is supposed to get off of work earlier. We are having a grill out at Ang and Loren's tonight, so that should be fun. Tomorrow she is having a little party at Build a Bear with a couple of her best friends. She is quite excited about that.

Olivia update

Well, here she is! More poor little sweetie! Yesturday morning she woke up with such a terrible cough at 5am, then proceeded to have trouble breathing. I could tell that she was uncomfortable, but she was still able to get some sleep. She has been getting these cold about every other week and so I had made an appt with Childrens Hospital for her to have an allergy and asthma workup, scheduled for next tues. Everytime I have taken her to our regular pediatrician she has been on her good week. Well, I finally took her in yesturday to make sure I was making the right call for the appt next week. Well, the doctor told us that she has all the signs and symptoms of having asthma. So with every little virus she gets or if there are any allergies that she has, she seems to react with wheezing or a terrible cough. She did get two inhalers, one of which she will have to take everyday 2x a day for as long as she needs it, could be a couple of years or so and that is to prevent any major asthma attack where she might have to get a larger dose. Luckily the doctor gave us samples that we can use, since she is still having that work up done on tues and I can clarify that that is the treatment that they want to her follow. WE are using bribs to get the inhalers done so far, she is not too excited about them, I am sure that they have a bad taste. This morning Jelly Bellies worked well for a brib.

I worked last night and John said that she didn't cough at all, where normally she would have been coughing much of the night. When I saw him this morning he told me that Olivia was talking to him about her breathing treatments and how sometimes it tasted yucky, but grandpa has to do it sometimes and he doesn't always like it. John said that she sounded like a little adult talking about what she had to do. She is a trooper and hopefully tues won't be too bad for her. I know I am not looking forward to it, but if there are things that we can do or avoid to make her more comfortable, I'd like to know!!! I will update everyone when I know more!

I am disappointed that my other photos didn't really turn out of this, but last Sat night there were many hot air balloons in the area because of the local fair and they had an evening launch. We drove to the top of the hill to watch them, and then we followed some to where they landed. What a site.

Dancing with the Stars. I don't know if I should admit it, but I am a fan of Joey Fatone from Nsync. He was just hilarious at the show and it was really quite entertaining. The girls actually stayed awake for the whole thing. Savannah was wondering where Killy Ray Syrus was, he was on last season and he is also Hannah Montana's dad from the Disney Channel. She was a little disappointed. She was watching up until the end. What a fun night!!!

This is typical Olivia! She always has her body in some sort of dancing motion. We were at Alterra on the lake watching and listening to live Latin music. They have that on thursday evenings. Jonathan, Aleisha and Amani were there too and it was a beatuiful night.

Just an overview

Well, so far our summer has been busy but very nice. WE have fit in many little things in between my working more nights. We have been going to the local pool more often on some very hot days and the kids have spent a lot of time at my parent's so I am able to sleep. Not sure what the rest of the summer will bring, my hours will be dwindling down, unfortunately, but I am also a little relieved. School will be starting for all of us sooner than we think. We just got back from a very nice weekend at John's parents. We were able to have a night out and the kids did lots of fun activities. Jackson got to play with his friend next to nana and grandpa's quite a bit, he even went to the local fair with him and his family. The girls went with N&G. Tonight my parent's are taking me and the girls to see Dancing With the Stars up in Green Bay. It will be a late night, but I think we will have lots of fun. I have to clean up my house before we leave because tomorrow we are having home visits from S& J's teachers. Hope all is well with those who read this and that everyone is having a nice summer. I will try to be better about keeping up with the photos.

A nice family pic in front of Nana and Grandpa's house. The last one we took like this, Livi was only a baby!

Who do you think this is? This was the coolest thing. We went to the Children's Museum in LaCrosse and they had this big pin thing, we all had a blast putting our faces in.

Here is the finished product of the girl's room. Livi sleeps on the bottom. It is a very sturdy bed. I actually slept up there with Savannah last night, since I had pinkie promised her that I would and lucky for me, it is a full size bed and she hardly moved at all last night. It was a very comfortable matress as well. I am really pleased with how it turned out. Underneath, I covered the plywood witha fabric that Olivia picked out, since she is the one looking up at it. They are pretty excited, it took a while for them to get to sleep. Jackson is a little jealous about the cool bed. We told him that his room is next for a make over, but not for a little while.

The girl's room has been getting a make over. My dad and brother made the loft bed and we have been changing the colors. It has been a fun project for me. All the blue is where I am making stripes. It was a lot of work, but really cool outcome. The girls were involved in choosing come of the colors.

At the park near Jonathan and Aleisha's where we spent the whole day on the 4th of July. What a nice picnic and relaxing day.

Amani and his mommy at the splash pad. He really had a ball and was right in there with the rest of the big kids!

Playing in the splash pad at Summerfest, Livi was not thrilled with the whole summerfest experience, so she never left the stroller!
