Olivia update
Well, here she is! More poor little sweetie! Yesturday morning she woke up with such a terrible cough at 5am, then proceeded to have trouble breathing. I could tell that she was uncomfortable, but she was still able to get some sleep. She has been getting these cold about every other week and so I had made an appt with Childrens Hospital for her to have an allergy and asthma workup, scheduled for next tues. Everytime I have taken her to our regular pediatrician she has been on her good week. Well, I finally took her in yesturday to make sure I was making the right call for the appt next week. Well, the doctor told us that she has all the signs and symptoms of having asthma. So with every little virus she gets or if there are any allergies that she has, she seems to react with wheezing or a terrible cough. She did get two inhalers, one of which she will have to take everyday 2x a day for as long as she needs it, could be a couple of years or so and that is to prevent any major asthma attack where she might have to get a larger dose. Luckily the doctor gave us samples that we can use, since she is still having that work up done on tues and I can clarify that that is the treatment that they want to her follow. WE are using bribs to get the inhalers done so far, she is not too excited about them, I am sure that they have a bad taste. This morning Jelly Bellies worked well for a brib.
I worked last night and John said that she didn't cough at all, where normally she would have been coughing much of the night. When I saw him this morning he told me that Olivia was talking to him about her breathing treatments and how sometimes it tasted yucky, but grandpa has to do it sometimes and he doesn't always like it. John said that she sounded like a little adult talking about what she had to do. She is a trooper and hopefully tues won't be too bad for her. I know I am not looking forward to it, but if there are things that we can do or avoid to make her more comfortable, I'd like to know!!! I will update everyone when I know more!
