Back in school for nursing. It is a challenge, but fun to be in that environment again. Always trying to find my place and figure out what my dreams are.

Amani 4 weeks

We went to visit Aleisha and Amani today and of course he slept all until I was ready to leave. He sure was a cutie. Savannah enjoyed him and Olivia was ready to go after an hour or so. She brought me her coat and said, "ready to go? Coat on?" She was a little jealous of mom holding him, but she actually sat by the two of us for a little while. Posted by Picasa

Ye Old School House Field Trip

Today, Jackson had an all day field trip to a one room school house out in West Bend. They dressed the part, the girls all wore dress like Laura Ingals wore and the boys all looked pretty cute, too. There was a teacher there who told all the kids about the past and what things were like back then. They all sat so nicely and did a great job listening. This has been something that the first graders have done for quite a few years, the eighth graders still talk about it. They brought pails and baskets with their lunches in. I had fun watching the kids, too. Posted by Picasa

It's not what you think!!! and the rest of my week!

Yes, this is how I have been walking around since Sat morning. We were at my parent's house and I decided I would practice some karate kicks on slippery wood floor with socks on. I am sure you are starting to guess what happened. Well Ipretended to kick John in the face, then he had to say, "is that the best you can do?" I tried to go higher, but my bottom foot slipped out from under me and I was doing a round house kick so I was in the middle of spinning and I was NOT close to the ground. When my foot slipped, I landed on my left hip my right knee and my chin. Oweeeee!! I layed there for a minute to try to figure out what had happened and I immediately felt my chin and I was turning into Jay Leno. Ice did help, but the bruising is beautiful, and of course I worked on Sat and Sun pm, so I told the story many times to my patients and co workers to reassure them that it was pure stupidity and not anything else. My hip is still a little sore when I sit and if I bump it, my knee is ok, just bruised. Thank goodness my jaw is ok, my neck is alittle stiff from the jolt to the floor, but getting better everyday.

This was hopefully the end to my very crazy week.
MONDAY I had gone to my grandma's and I try to get home by 430 when Jackson gets off the bus,I walked in the house and there he was. The bus was a little early and luckily because we had the dog, I had forgotten to lock the front door and he was able to get in. He said that he locked the door right away. Good Job Jackson!

WEDNESDAY Savannah has her Kids on Keys class in Harland at 345 so Jackson goes to Latchkey at school and I pick him up afterwards. I got to latchekey and he wasn't there, that meant he took the bus home and he got home at around 430, by then it was 5pm. I called home immediately and luckily he answered, but crying. For some reason I had left the back door unlocked and of course everyone was driving extremely slow that day so it felt like it took forever to get home. He was very brave and once again remembered to lock the doors when he got home. I thought that had been a stressful enough week already.

FRIDAY came and it was very cold so I was warming up the car before we all had to kead off to school, and I also had an annual evaluation scheduled for work at 10. Jackson had gone out to get into the van and was having trouble opening the door because it was frozen shut, he thought it was locked, so he unlocked it, or so he thought. I went out to open the doors and realized that the doors were locked and my van was running. With no spare except with John downtown (and that day it had taken him an hour and 15 minutes to get down to work so the last thing he wanted to do was come back) I ended up calling a locksmith and spending money to do something I probably could have done on my own if I wouldn't have been so stressed out. Jackson was an hour late to school and I missed my eval. Thankfully rescheduled and I went home I tried to relax until we headed to my parent's that evening.

I am very glad that last week is done and I don't think that I will forget it. Here's to hoping this week will be much better! Plus I still have good spirits and can laugh a little about it anyways. Posted by Picasa

Savannah holding her newest cousin

She was totally enthralled with this little guy. When I was holding and feeding him she was right there kissing his head and patting his head. She was just beaming when she was holding him and couldn't stop looking at him and touching his hands. Very sweet. Posted by Picasa

Our Cancun trip!

Our last sunset in Cancun. We had a wonderful dinner that night and really enjoyed the all inclusive. Definitely worthwhile. The weather was ok, some wind and clouds but overall pretty nice. The kids were very good at Grandma and Grandpa's house this weekend, it is so nice that they were able to do that for us. Posted by Picasa

View from our room. There was a lot of rebuilding since many of the hotels were not even up and running. Only 30 out of about 170 were up and running. Everyone was SO friendly I am sure they were just happy that they were bringing in business. Posted by Picasa

This was our room, we were very pleased with it. Posted by Picasa

Mexican Coffee

That blue streak is a flame. He was pouring the liquor from one cup to the next all while it was on fire. John and I thought it was so cool. And the bonus was that they tasted REALLY good. Posted by Picasa

Who is that sexy man? He did only finish one book while we where laying out. I was very surprised (he brought 3) Posted by Picasa

We are back!

Just wanted to let you know that John and I are back to the real world. We had a very enjoyable time in Cancun, no rain, but some wind and clouds. We didn't leave our resort and totally got into the "fru fru" drinks that they brought to us all the time. LOVE IT! I need to get some rest since I work tonight. I do have some beautiful pics to show.
