Well, the night before Jackson was a little nervous! He was afraid of taking the bus, so I told him that I would take him and pick him up until he felt more comfortable. He was up early that morning and got ready very willingly. Me and the girls took him in and got him situated. He seemed a little overwhelmed at first but gave us all hugs and kisses two times over. It melted my heart, but I was very excited for him to be growing up! When we picked him up, I have never seen him look SO tired. I asked him if he was feeling ok because he almost looked sick to me. Then he mumbled,
"I am really tired" It was really cute. So on our way home, he asked Savannah if she missed him and she mumbled something back,(I think she said "yes") and he responded, "I missed YOU" The definitely melted my heart. Savannah would have had a harder time if she hadn't gone to her friends house to play almost the whole day. It was a quiet day for me, but I mowed the lawn while Olivia napped.
When we got home, he had a snack then told me that he was going to "take a rest" on the couch. He did lay there for a little while, but Olivia was bugging him. She was looking for trouble and attention from them. I guess she missed them! He did his reading homework, then went to play. All of a sudden he was back to being the big brother and they were back to driving me crazy because of this new wrestling thing that they have been doing.
Day 2 went well, not quite as tired, but didn't fight going to bed tonight.
Here is a converstation from bedtime last night:
J: When do I have shorter days again?
MOm: They are all going to be longer days!
J: Oh man!
So it begins!
